6 — Uninstalling NetCrusader/Web Software

This chapter describes how to remove NetCrusader/Web software and some software installed as part of the Solaris NetCrusader/Web package. It contains the following sections:

You can disable the Security Adapter software from one or more web servers or completely uninstall the software from the system. This section gives the procedures for uninstalling from a system. For information on disabling the software, see Section 5.4 on page 33.

6.1 Virtual Directories

If you have created virtual web directories that point to the NetCrusader/Web samples directories, you must delete the virtual directories before you uninstall NetCrusader/Web. If you do not delete the virtual directories, the uninstaller will be unable to remove them

6.2 Uninstalling the Software

When you uninstall NetCrusader/Web software, you remove all installed components, even if they were installed separately. See the NetCrusader/Web Overview Guide for a list and description of NetCrusader/Web components.

To remove NetCrusader/Web correctly:

  1. Open the Control Panel and start the Add/Remove Program applet.

  2. Use the Add/Remove Program applet to uninstall the NetCrusader software.

The uninstall program asks you to confirm that you want to remove the Security Adapter from your system. If you answer yes, you are asked the following questions:
