This chapter provides an overview of the software, hardware (where applicable), and infrastructure requirements for Entegrity® NetCrusader/Web software. It contains the following sections:

For best results, do not start installation until you have reviewed this
chapter thoroughly.
1.1 General Prerequisites
Before you install NetCrusader/Web, review the requirements listed in this section as well as additional function-specific requirements (Section 1.5 on page 9). Verify these requirements for all web servers that you want to protect using NetCrusader security functions.
Table 1-1 lists the Security Adapter basic prerequisites for Windows® platforms.
The Security Adapter requires a web server. The following web servers are supported:
Make sure the browser meets any prerequisites necessary for your authentication scheme (see Section 1.5).
This product was tested successfully on the following browsers:
NetCrusader Commander works within the framework of the Microsoft Management Console (MMC).
For Windows 2000 systems, you need Version 1.2 or greater of MMC.
For Windows NT systems, you can use Version 1.1 or greater.
MMC has its own prerequisites. Make sure that your system satsifies those. For example, make sure that you have the correct version of the operating system and the Internet Explorer browser.
1.5 Authentication Prerequisites
Table 1-2 describes prerequisites related to authentication schemes that NetCrusader supports. Satisfy the prerequisites for those authentication schemes that you use.
