Configuring Entegrity DCE to Support HP OpenView
(414GR 6-Sep-2005)

Question
How do I configure Entegrity DCE for Tru64 UNIX to run with HP OpenView?

Answer

1. First, and most importantly, you MUST install DCE prior to installing HP OpenView.

(If you do not, OpenView configures itself to use llbd, which then takes port 135. When you attempt to configure DCE, it will not start up since port 135 is in use.)

2. Configure your Entegrity DCE for RPC-only mode.

  1. Log in as root and invoke dcesetup (/usr/sbin/dcesetup). The DCE Setup Main Menu appears. If you are not logged in as root, the dcesetup utility can perform only the Show and Version choices.
  2. Choose option 1, Configure. The Configuration Choice Menu appears
  3. Choose option 6, Configure This system for RPC Only.

The configuration program displays messages indicating that DCE services are being stopped and that local DCE databases and configuration files are being deleted. When the Main Menu re-appears, your configuration is complete. You do not need to restart the system for changes to take effect.
