HOW COMMANDER INTERPRETS CASE SENSITIVITY
(248GR 16-Jan-1998)

The DCE Registry editor is case-sensitive and permits the creation of multiple user and server names with different mixed-case specifications. (For example, john_doe, John_Doe, or my_server, My_Server.) While the DCE registry interprets these as different and disctinct principal names, Commander interprets them as duplicate names. If you use Commander to create two user names or server names with the same character string (regardless of case), Commander displays an error message and then exits.

If you accidentally create duplicate user or server names, use the Registry editor (rgy_edit) to delete one of the accounts.
